What is the NorthEast Foundation?
The NorthEast Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.  The mission of the NorthEast Foundation is to support the strategic plan of Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast by actively engaging citizens to participate in fundraising and friend-raising initiatives to better promote and meet the needs of the medical center.  The NorthEast Foundation is able to provide funding to CHS NorthEast because of the generous support of community members, corporations, foundations and teammates like you.

What is the Northeast Foundation Teammate Giving Campaign?
The Teammate Giving Campaign is an outreach effort by a group of teammate volunteers, combined with the NorthEast Foundation staff, to encourage everyone on the CHS NorthEast team to make charitable contributions in support of the programs and services provided by the hospital.  As teammates, we all play a key role in the daily care of the patients in our community.  Because CHS NorthEast is a not-for-profit hospital, we seek and accept donations from community members, corporations and foundations, in addition to our CHS NorthEast teammates.

The Teammate Giving Campaign is an annual fundraising campaign that takes place for 6 weeks, beginning in February.  This is the only annual campaign that directly supports CHS NorthEast. 

How much is raised through the Teammate Giving Campaign?
The 2016 Teammate Giving Campaign raised over $245,000 for CHS NorthEast.  The goal in 2017 is to raise $252,000.  We know that with your support, we can reach our 2017 goal!

Many organizations ask for my support, why should I donate to the NorthEast Foundation Teammate Giving Campaign?
The annual NorthEast Foundation Teammate Giving Campaign allows you to give your gifts to your hospital. Your gifts stay here at CHS NorthEast.  When you make a donation, you are supporting the programs and services of CHS NorthEast. 

Giving back to our hospital sends a powerful statement to your colleagues and our community.  We rely on the generosity of our community so that we may continue to provide outstanding care for our patients at CHS NorthEast.  Will you join the community and your fellow colleagues in supporting our hospital during the Teammate Giving Campaign?

How is my donation used here at CHS NorthEast?
One hundred percent of the gifts you donate stay here at CHS NorthEast.  Your gifts directly support everything from new programs, to hospital infrastructure, to innovations in patient care.  Your contributions are directed to a Greatest Need fund that will provide an unrestricted gift that can be put to immediate use wherever it is needed most.  Your gifts are truly making an impact here at CHS NorthEast.  To see the impact your dollars have made toward equipment and programs at CHS NorthEast, click here.

Yes, I’d like to make a difference.  How can I make my donation?
There are 2 ways to make a donation.  Payroll deduction provides the easiest way to contribute to the Teammate Giving Campaign.  You may also make a one-time gift with a check or credit card.   To make your donation, click here.

Can I give through payroll deduction and how does it work?
Yes, you can give through payroll deduction. Once you fill out a pledge form , your deduction will typically begin two to three weeks after we receive your completed form.  Your gifts through payroll deduction are considered continuous each year.  You will not need to renew your pledge each year.  You can, however, make a change to your donation level at any time.

How much should I contribute and is my contribution tax deductible?
Making a contribution is a personal decision and any amount is welcome and appreciated.  If you itemize deductions on your tax return, all contributions to NorthEast Foundation are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Is there a deadline for making a donation?
Gifts to our hospital can be made at any time throughout the year. The Teammate Giving Campaign officially begins on February 8, 2017 and will last for six weeks, ending on March 22, 2017.  To be eligible for the teammate gift and weekly prize drawings, you must donate or turn in a completed pledge form by March 22, 2017.   Additionally, you can support CHS NorthEast year round by donating online or by calling the NorthEast Foundation at 704-403-1369.

How will my donation be recognized?
Your gift will be recognized every day as our hospital continues to provide extraordinary care to every patient who walks through the door at CHS NorthEast.  You will also receive an acknowledgement letter and tax receipt for your donation of $250 or more.  Teammates will receive this letter in January.  All teammates who contribute to the Teammate Giving Campaign will be listed by name in the NorthEast Foundation Annual Account.

What kinds of incentives are there for participating in the Teammate Giving Campaign?
Any teammate who donates at a gift level of $2.00 or more per pay period will receive a teammate gift during the 6 week Teammate Giving Campaign.  Any teammate who donates at a gift level of $5.00 or more per pay period will receive an additional small gift and will be entered for a chance to win weekly prize drawings during the 6 week campaign.  For further information about weekly prize drawings and winners, click here.
